The examination authority declared that these institutions will be barred from conducting any examinations, including the upcoming 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which is set to commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

‎Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of WAEC’s National Office, made the announcement during a press briefing held at the council’s headquarters in Lagos. He revealed that the comprehensive list of the affected schools has already been communicated to the Nigerian government. “This year, we have identified 574 schools that have had their recognition withdrawn,” Dangut stated. “These revocations apply to all examining bodies, meaning these schools will not be considered valid examination centers.”
