Nigerian content creator Mark Angel recently shared details about a difficult year in 2024, disclosing that he suffered a $3.7 million loss in forex trading, which plunged him into significant debt.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Mark recounted how this financial setback led to one of the most challenging periods of his life. He described feeling as though his world was crumbling, with loan sharks seizing his properties and the burden of debt leaving him in a state of despair.
As he sought recovery through therapy, Mark encountered another obstacle—a scandal that shook his career and tested his relationships. He reflected on how the ordeal revealed true friends from false ones and deepened his faith in God. The experience, he noted, taught him invaluable lessons about resilience, faith, and the grace of God.
Mark expressed heartfelt gratitude for the steadfast support he received from his friends, family, pastor, ex-wife, daughters, and social media manager during this trying time.
He wrote, “The year 2024 began like every other year, but I had no idea how much it would test me how much it would break me, yet ultimately reshape me. It was the year I lost everything. I trusted the wrong hands in forex and lost all my money. Nobody knew except my family and closest circle. The weight of the loss, over $3.7 million was suffocating. I was drowning in debts, and one by one, I watched all my properties slip into the hands of loan sharks. It felt like my world was crumbling, and in my darkest moments, I considered ending it all.
According to him, “But God… Without His mercy, I wouldn’t be here sharing this story. He sent angels into my life when I needed them most. Blessing, a friend who became family, never gave up on me. My pastor and his wife offered prayers and guidance. My daughters, Victoria and Mila, reminded me of life’s beauty, even in dark moments. Mandy, my ex-wife, extended a kindness I will always remember. My son, Schoolboy, showed a strength beyond his years. And Bright, my social media assistant, was a pillar of support when I was on the verge of collapse.”
