Pupils and staff from Aureus School, near Didcot, took part in the Race for Life event on Friday, February 14, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Year 7 and 8 pupils, along with staff members, have been training as part of the Desk to 5K programme in preparation for completing the route around the school field.
The event was attended by headteacher Kirsty Rogers and assistant headteacher Hannah Powell, who also took part in the run.
Donations can be made directly to Cancer Research UK via Aureus School’s Race for Life 2025 link.
The school has raised £1,190 through its page so far.
The sunny weather provided ideal conditions for the race as participants were spurred on by teachers and other pupils.
Rob Hayden, head of PE, said: “We are so proud of how students have risen to this challenge and dug deep to keep going on training days, even when the weather has been so challenging.
More than 10 million people have taken part in Race for Life events since 1994, helping to raise £970 million for Cancer Research.
Everyone who takes part in a Race for Life event receives a medal, fundraising pack, and training support.
